Shannon and members of her team joined RE/MAX Honolulu to take part in the 2018 Home Builders Blitz Week. They, along with other volunteers, picked up building tools and helped bring the dream of homeownership to a much deserving family.

You! Yes, you…Thank you for everything. REALLY!

June 4th through the 9th, you helped us with installing the floor frame and joists, subfloor, wall framing, and roofing. With your support, we were able to build 35% of the Nakano’s home in Waipahu. There is no way we could do what we do without the support from volunteers like you! We want to thank and acknowledge, you, our wonderful volunteers, for your dedicated support of our mission to eliminate substandard housing and help build communities here on O’ahu through affordable homeownership.

So how did you help? On average 3,000 volunteer hours will be put into a new Honolulu Habitat home from start to finish, saving the homeowners about 40% off the final cost of the home. That’s a huge saving for Habitat Homeowners, especially here in Hawaii.

The continued commitment and care of our volunteers have made it possible to complete 78 projects, serving over 400 family members in our local communities since 1988. It’s because of your commitment and follow through that Honolulu Habitat Homeowners like Denis and Estelle Nakano will realize the dream of homeownership.

So from us to you, THANK YOU; with wholehearted sincerity, volunteers like you help us make a difference year after year in the lives of our Habitat Homeowners here on O’ahu.
