7 Best Places in Hawaii for Your Romantic Getaway
You and your significant other are celebrating your wedding anniversary. What better way to spend time together than with a romantic getaway in beautiful Hawaii?
Hawaii contains a wide array of resorts where you can enjoy amazing views and a delicious meal. Some of these resorts are so remote that you’ll feel like the two of you are the only guests.
When you’re not relaxing at the hotel, you can go explore the beaches, do some shopping, and visit a lush garden.
Does all of that sound great to you? Check out this Hawaii vacation guide to set up your itinerary.
1. Travaasa Hana
At Travassa Hana resort in Maui, you’ll have the option to book a private suite or a secluded cottage. Either way, we promise that you’ll have an amazing view of the ocean when the sun is coming up each morning.
If you both like a little adventure or just want to go explore, there are opportunities to go snorkeling. When you’re ready to wind down, you can take a trip to the spa located at the resort.
As far as food goes, there’s a restaurant located onsite where you can get an authentic Hawaiian breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We will warn you that the goal of this resort is to preserve tranquility. You won’t have access to TV, internet, or radio. You may see it as an inconvenience but it does give you the chance to unplug and get away from the outside world with the person you love most.
2. Hanalei
There’s a little something for everyone in Hanalei. First, there’s a ton of famous beaches that offer both adventure and relaxation. At Tunnels beach, for example, you can enjoy snorkeling when the waters are calm or try your hand at surfing with your partner when the waves pick up.
If you take the mountain trails in Hanalei you’ll come across waterfalls, shops, art galleries, and the Limahuli Garden. It’s a 1,000 acres of beautiful green scenery.
The best part of Limahuli is the taro gardens and the terrace system. Both are quite old and have been around for a little over a century or more.
3. Ho’oilo House
The Ho’olio House is a 6 room adult-only resort that’s located in the Maui mountains. You’ll be at the height of luxury with furnishings that come straight out of Bali and a free breakfast each morning. If you enjoy nature you’ll love the private outdoor showers.
One of the only downsides of this resort is that it’s not within walking distance of any beaches but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing fun to do. You can enjoy hiking, golfing, snorkeling, and swimming with your partner.
Unlike some of the other resorts on this list, there’s no spa at Ho’oilo House but you can arrange a nice couples massage in your room.
4. Kaanapali Beach
In West Maui, you’ve got Kaanapali Beach. It boasts clear waters that are great for taking a dip in.
Just be careful when you’re swimming because the currents are a little stronger than they seem. There’s a lifeguard on duty but you still don’t want to get carried away.
If you want to do a little sightseeing, the waters at Kannapali Beach are pretty shallow which is great for snorkeling. You never know what you’ll come across!
When you get tired of the beach or simply get hungry, there are plenty of resturants and shops that aren’t too far away. We do recommend that you and your loved one stick around until sunset for the cliff diving ceremony.
Every evening a cliff diver lights the torches at Puu Kekaa and dives off. It’s a sight to behold that you can take part in too. There are ziplines available if you want to try the same feat with your partner.
5. Manoa Valley Inn
If you want to get out fo the hustle and bustle that Hawaii has to offer, the Manoa Valley Inn has you covered. There are 7 different rooms that you and your partner can choose from. Each one comes with its own private bathroom and the promise of a hot breakfast served each morning.
For days when you want to relax all day, you can sit by the scenic saltwater pools. When you want to venture out of the hotel and have a little fun, Waikiki Beach, Nuuanu Pali State Park, and the Manoa Falls aren’t too far away.
6. Wailea
There is a wide variety of resorts, restaurants, and shopping spots found in Wailea but they’re all spread apart. This allows you to avoid some of the foot traffic that Maui has to offer. The beaches in Wailea are pretty calm which makes them great for snorkeling and swimming with your loved one.
There are tons of fun events that happen in Wailea each year from film festivals to Restaurant Week and there are plenty of places where the two of you can enjoy a little golfing. You’ll never get bored!
7. Volcano Rainforest Retreat
The volcano Rainforest Retreat is home to four private cottages that you choose from. These cottages are placed far enough apart as not to disturb any wildlife so you and your significant other will be pretty much secluded from other guests.
As the name suggests, the retreat is built near the Volcanos National Park so there’s a lot of exploration opportunity and it feels like there’s always a festival going on!
Breakfast will be brought to you in your cottage and there are several restaurants in the area where the two of you can enjoy a nice lunch and dinner.
